Falconry

Falconry, 2D Art
Falconry Honorable Mention
I was inspired by my deep longing to help endangered or at risk species, such as those threatened by the invasive European Starling. I decided to base my artwork around the peregrine falcon because they are both the fastest and most commonly used falcons in the falconry practice. I chose to use colored pencils because I enjoy how blendable Prismacolors are, and I thought that the blendability would effectively depict the feathery birds. I chose to put the red birch in front to bring the Starling into the foreground with the falcon.
