The Malayan Pangolin 1st Place 3D

I love interesting creatures and wanted to create a sculpture of one of these animals. I find the pangolin very interesting, so I picked it for my piece. I sculpted the shape of the body first and then made and attached each of the scales. After firing, I used acrylic paint for the whole piece. To get the texture on the body, I watered down brown acrylic paint and covered the sculpture with it. Before it dried, I used a paper towel to wipe a lot of it off. Because I paid so much attention to small details, the process of working on the sculpture made me appreciate the uniqueness of the pangolin even more.
