Listening Fawn

Listening Fawn, 3D Art
Listening Fawn Honorable Mention
"Listening Fawn" is a sculpture of a fawn looking around, ears and tail perked and head turned, seeming to listen to its surroundings. The head and body are made out of clay, while tail and legs are foam covered in plaster, with the whole thing being covered in wood-filler and, of course, painted with acrylics before a few passes with the airbrush. The legs have a center made of rebar for support. Due to complications with the original ceramic legs falling off and each one breaking in half, I had to remake the legs out of rebar and spray foam in order to correctly support the weight of the body. This piece took me almost a whole year and countless hours to complete, my every waking moment nearly consumed by it to the point that my friends got a little concerned for my health, but I believe it was worth it in the end. The sculpture process took me from February to October 2024, and the painting process took me from November 2024 to January 2025.
