Fragile Illusion

This piece depicts a sea turtle swimming toward the light, surrounded by plastic bags resembling jellyfish. The turtle’s silhouette and the glowing tones reflect the duality of its world: the ocean’s beauty and the hidden dangers caused by human pollution. The contrast between light and shadow aims to inspire both admiration for nature and reflection on the impact we have on it. I used color pencils to achieve the soft and vibrant textures in the piece and demonstrate how similar the plastic bags and the jellyfish are, being it the reason turtles end up eating them.
